Prague Castle (Prazsky hrad) and St. Vitus Cathedral
Built in 870, the Castle of Prague is the largest and one of the oldest castles in the world and contains more than seven hundred rooms. Within the castle you can visit St. Vitus Cathedral, the Tomb Of St Wenceslas, the National Gallery, Toy Museum and Historical Museum. The crown jewels of the Bohemian Kingdom are also kept here.

Charles Bridge (Karluv Most)
The most photographed landmark in Prague, this popular pedestrian bridge, adorned with statues, connects the Old town with Lesser Town and is filled with musicians, painters and street vendors (and tourists).

Old Town (Staré Mesto) with its Old Town Square
The Old Town is a maze of cobbled laneways, side streets and souvenir shops. In the centre, the Old Town Square is surrounded by baroque buildings, vibrant cafes, street entertainers and craftspeople. Hre you will find famous landmarks such as the Old Town Hall, The Twin Spires of the Church of our Lady of Tyn and the Astronomical Clock.

The Astronomical Clock
The Astronomical Clock (Prague Orloj) is a medieval astronomical clock mounted on the southern wall of Old Town City Hall in the Old Town Square. Every hour, on the hour, you can witness the "The Walk of the Apostles".

New Town (Nové mesto) and Wenceslas Square
Named after Saint Wenceslas, the patron saint of Bohemia, Wenceslas Square is one of the main city squares and the centre of commerce and tourism in Prague's New Town. Many historical events have taken place here, including the demonstrations of November 1989 when 250,000 people gathered to demand the fall of the Iron Curtain and the end of Communism.

Malá Strana (Lesser Quarter)
One of Prague's historical and oldest boroughs, the 'Lesser Town' or 'Lesser Quarter' gets its name comes from its position on the left bank of the river Vltava, on the slopes below Prague Castle. Beautiful, leafy, hillside parks and gardens, this is a great place for relaxation and writing postcards. Visit the National Observatory, the Rose Gardens and Mirror Maze.

Josefov (the old Jewish quarter)
This historic pre-war Jewish neighborhood now stands as a silent memorial to its people. Visit the Old Jewish Cemetery and Old-New Synagogue, oldest synagogue in Europe.

The Lennon Wall
The 'John Lennon Peace Wall' stands in a quiet square and is filled with John Lennon inspired graffiti and lyrics from Beatles songs. Following the collapse of Communism, the Lennon Wall became not only a memorial to Lennon and his ideas, but also a monument to free speech and the ideals of love and peace.

Directions: By tram from Hlavní nádrazí train station: Take either tram #5 or #12 northbound to Osadní. Walk to the intersection of Plynární, Ortenovo námestí and U Uranie. There is a large green park on the corner on the left. Cross over to the park and walk down Ortenovo Námestí until you reach Prívozní. The hostel is number 1 on the left hand side.
