Florence is a stunning city and the birthplace of Italian Renaissance architecture. The Duomo is the fourth largest cathedral in the world and dominates Florentian skyline - its facade is a beautiful mix of green, pink and white marble. Giotto's Bell Tower stands next to the Duomo and is one of the showpieces of the Florentine gothic style. Take in the city's famous squares, particularly the Piazza della Signora, and visit the Uffizi Gallery, housing the most important art collection in Italy. Florence was home to Dante, Machiavelli and Michelangelo and you can see Michelangelo's David in the Galleria dell'Accademia.

The Duomo
This is the 4th largest Cathedral in the world. Walk up the 464 steps to the top of the dome, see the fresco of the Last Judgment and then continue up between the two layers of the dome to get an absolutely breathtaking view over Florence.

Galleria dell' Accademia
World famous art gallery, home to Michaelangelo's David and other sculptures and paintings by the great masters of the Florentine 14th and 15th centuries.

Ponte Vecchio
The oldest bridge in Florence, the Ponte Vecchio is a beautiful covered bridge is lined on both sides with gold and silver jewelery shops.
