The Little Mermaid
Hans Christian Andersen wrote a fairy tale about her and Copenhagen maintains a statue in her honour. The Little Mermaid is the most popular tourist attraction in Denmark and one of the most photographed statues in the world.
Tivoli Gardens
Fairytale amusement park in the heart of Copenhagen - Tivoli Gardens is a beautiful park with Oriental style buildings and a Dragon Boat lake. Best known for its wooden roller coaster, which is one of the oldest still in operation.
Strøget Street
Copenhagen's largest shopping area is centred on Europe's longest pedestrian shopping street, Strøget, and the streets that surround it. All the top European fashion brands can be found here, and Strøget is also a popular venue for street performers.
Amalienborg Palace
Amalienborg Palace is the winter home of the Danish royal family. The complex comprises of four externally identical palaces around a courtyard. In the center of the square is an equestrian statue of Frederik V, founder of the palace.
The National Gallery
The museum houses a large collection of Danish and international paintings and sculptures from the 15th century onwards, and is located in central Copenhagen, a short walk from the Castle of Rosenborg and the Botanical Gardens.

Hamlet's Kronborg Castle
Kronborg Castle is situated near the town of Helsingør and is one of northern Europe's most important Renaissance castles. It is probably best known as the setting for Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. Hamlet Castle Tours operate daily from June to September, visiting Frederiksborg Castle in the magnificent surroundings of Hillerød, past the Royal Family's summer residence - Fredensborg Palace - and on to Elsinore, where you will see the outer walls and towers of impressive Kronborg Castle.
The Viking Ship Museum
The Viking Ship Museum is located on the waterfront of the beautiful Roskilde Fjord, approximately 30 kilometres from Copenhagen. The Museum was built to house five Viking ships that were salvaged from the harbour in 1962. In ancient times, Roskilde was the capital of Denmark, and Roskilde Cathedral has been the burial place of Danish kings and queens since the 15th century. Tours operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays (July to September) from Copenhagen out to Roskilde and the Viking Museum.
